1904 Cadets was created to prepare the youth in our communities to fill the growing opportunities in Emergency Medical Response and the Fire Service. With an approach of employing leadership development and mentoring in an inclusive and culturally relevant manner, students will be taught ‘NREMT Standards’ which are the requirements for entry into a career in emergency medical response.
The 1904 Cadet “Emergency Medical Response” program offers students a comprehensive education and skills-training opportunity, in emergency care with a focus on CPR/ AED, BLS Healthcare Provider and First Aid. Students who successfully complete coursework will receive certifications through the American Heart Association. After establishing a strong foundation for first responder skills, students will advance to a Prehospital Emergency Care coursework, with a focus on Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). Academic coursework and manipulative skills directly correlate to the course curriculum required to successfully pass the National Registry examination for EMT Certification.
